Pepper - Hot
Anaheim Chili
70-90 days. Very mild, medium sized chili to 6-10", often used when
green. The basic variety ripens to a dark green/reddish color, but other
strains ripen to full red. They are one of the most common chilies in the
United States and are used in many foods for flavoring. Red varieties are
strung together and used to make ristras. Origin: Named for the California
city of Anaheim.
Cayenne Long Slim Hot
70-75 days. Highly pungent hot peppers for Mexican and Latin American
cuisine. Long slim, pencil pod peppers borne in abundance, turn from dark
green to bright red when mature. Can be used for hot pepper sprays.
Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax
58-85 days. Fruits waxy yellow, 6-8" long. 2" wide, turning to
bright red when fully ripe. For use in hot recipes.
Serrano
75 days. Green to red, bullet shaped pepper, 2 in. long peppers are quite
hot.
